Living the Life!

 February 1994..... Melanie arrived in Early, Texas from Houston to persue a life in art.  At the time clay was the focus.  She created and sold hand-built pieces in Gallery One Fine Arts and various stores in Brownwood.

When Gallery One opened, Melanie was the first in line to sign up for oil painting classes and was hooked.  The past 14 years have developed into a style all her own, full of color and unusual presentation on canvas.  She has had work accepted three times in the Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit as well as shows in Coleman and Llano, TX.

Melanie lives in Early, TX on 85 acres, is very involved in The Brownwood Art Association, and hosts an open session in all art mediums at the art center on Tuesday evenings. 

Make a stop in Brownwood/Early, Texas and visit the exhibits at the art center throughout the year as well as the annual February "Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit" and the Brownwood Art Association "Salon des Refuses" in which many prominent artists participate in the competition as well as demonstrate their talents.
